ELCONTUBEFITTING
are installed in three easy steps.
Step1
Insert the tubing into theELCONTUBEFITTING.Make sure that the tubing rests
firmlyon the shoulders ofthe fittingand that thenut is snug tight, in this position
the tubedoesnot rotatebyhand.
Step 2
Before tightening the ELCON nut, scribe the nut atthe 6.00 o'clock position.
Step 3
Nowwhile holding the fitting body steadywith a backupwrench, tighten the
nut one-and-one quarter turns*
Watch the scribemark, make one complete revolution and continue to the 9.00 o'clock position. *For 1/8",
3/16",3&4mmsize tube fittings,only% turns from finger-tight isnecessary the joint isnowcomplete.

Due to thevariationof tubingdiameters,acommonstartingpoint isdesirable.Therefore,useawrench tosnugup
thenut until the tubingwill not turn (byhand) in the fitting.Now tighten thenut one-and-onequarter turns and
the fitting is ready toholdpressurewellabove theworkingpressureof the tubing.
RE-TIGHTENING INSTRUCTIONS
Connections can be disconnected and re-tightenedmany, many times and the same reliable, leak-proof seal
obtainedevery time the reconnection ismade.
